CCYAA Celebrity Classic Afterparty

Once a year the Chinese Canadian Youth Athletic Association (CCYAA) in Toronto organizes an Asian-inspired weekend full of delicious food, hilarious comedy, and a celebrity-filled charity basketball game called The Celebrity Classic. This year The Combine was asked to host the official Celebrity Classic Afterparty, so we did it the only way we know how – with a fully immersive celebration of sports, art, culture, food, and of course, bubble tea. 

For one night only, The Combine transformed from a creative working environment to a fully functioning indoor Asian Night Market complete with video games, a sneaker shining station, and multiple food vendors. We hosted celebrities like NBA star Jeremy Lin and Marvel superhero Simu Liu, as well as up-and-coming artists like Young Mazino and AJ Rafael. 

The evening wasn’t just about the celebrities – we also wanted to ensure all the volunteers at the CCYAA felt the appreciation of the entire community.  

Whether it was through local food vendors or a unique partnership with Google Pixel, the night was about kicking back, relaxing, and enjoying all the hard work it took to put on the weekend event.
